Title: As Constructed Asset Data

Abstract: Having good data on assets (spatial, attribute and metadata) is essential to ensure these assets are effectively managed into the future to provide services to the community. It is still common practice to capture spatial information numerically and submit it on paper to the council. The council then has to recapture the information in digital form. This is, of course, what they have been asked to do, but the result is an unnecessary duplication of effort and opens up the potential for inconsistency and translation errors. Good asset management commences at the planning stage and continues through the design and construction of an asset.
