Abstract: One of the most devastating legacies of the COVID-19 pandemic will be its economic damage. Thousands of jobs have been lost across Australia and industries shuttered overnight by the social restrictions required to stop the virus spreading. Governments at all levels have announced relief packages to help soften the impact of this economic devastation. The Palaszczuk Government has focused on supporting the most severely impacted workers and industries and the construction sector has fared better than most through the pandemic. Infrastructure projects will be an important driver in Queensland’s economic recovery. The construction sector and the businesses that support it will play an essential role in leading that recovery.
