Abstract: Hughenden Recreational Lake construction completed commenced in July 2018 in September 2019, but the community was dreaming about this project from at least 15 years. In this presentation, I would like to share my experience with this project from funding phase, which started in the Year 2016. This project emphasised the importance of scoping, relevant stakeholder engagement, risk analysis at design phase to avoid challenges during the construction and to meet the budget expectations. How the project team completed the project successfully by adopting agile project management style with strategic management approach to achieve the best result. How we managed the design changes, managed the budget, minimised operational costs, comply with the engineering and safety standards, and most importantly met the Community and the elected member’s expectations.
