Abstract: | A panel discussion about the term 'useful life' at this year's annual conference may have, at firs glance, seemed to be a battle of the accountants and the engineers. However, what transpired and what I learnt from the experience of being on the panel representing Local Government Finance Professionals (the accountants) would better be described as a common understanding of how Councils are extending the 'useful life' of our assets to meet the needs of the community and financial pressures |
