Authors: Adelaide City Council
Tags: Transport Strategy
Issue Date: 2012
Publisher: Adelaide City Council
Abstract: This Strategy sets directions for creating great streets and places for people; and making the City safer and easier to access for all users. Smart Move, The City of Adelaide’s Transport and Movement Strategy 2012-22 (the Strategy) outlines Council’s desired transport and movement outcomes for the City, and the strategies to achieve these over the next ten years. The Strategy aims to make the City more accessible by accommodating greater travel choices to meet the needs of all users. The Strategy’s key priority is to create a people-friendly City by improving conditions for pedestrians, cyclists and those using public transport. It strives to achieve the right balance for accommodating these priority users, while also addressing the needs for parking, loading and car accessibility. The directions set in the Strategy also respond to planned major projects in the City and the envisaged increase in population. Delivering the Strategy will involve many new exciting projects, as well as travel behaviour programs, advocacy, education campaigns and innovative technology. The Strategy will be the leading document in the delivery of one of the key outcomes of The City of Adelaide Strategic Plan 2012-16, Accessible City
