dc.description.abstractThere are a number of different delivery models that can be used to deliver an infrastructure project. These range from the traditional contracting through to public-private partnerships. Regardless of the model adopted, collaboration must be an essential feature of any successful commercial relationship between the relevant parties. Effective collaboration does not occur because it is required by the contract but because of the leadership and capability of both participants wishing to achieve a common outcome whilst recognising that each participant has different business objectives. Collaboration is a means to achieving a mutual goal and is not an end in itself. This paper discusses the learnings from recent projects and highlights the critical issues that must be considered to achieve a successful outcome.en_US
