Abstract: | In-ground network assets are the most expensive component of the roughly $40 Billion Local Government owned water and sewerage infrastructure. Due to the nature of being buried, these assets are often ‘hidden’ meaning degradation of existing pipes is not obvious and ageing assets attract public and political attention only during major incidents. The infrastructure cliff research investigated the degradation of these assets and was designed to support the continued advocacy for better asset management and support for Local Governments. |
