Abstract: This paper examines how the use of GFRP reinforcing, pultrusion and Geopolymer concrete, through an array of features reduce installation and maintenance costs across the board as well as the carbon footprint while extending design life. Specifically, looking at two main examples, a bulk carrier wharf on the Brisbane river and a working wharf in Far North Queensland.
