Abstract: The Department of Natural Resources and Mines acquire, manage and provide access to a vast array of Queensland’s spatial information that involves developing and delivering world class spatial information solutions. Providing discovery and access to spatial information through a variety of means so that customers and staff can access and utilise in ways convenient to them is a cornerstone. Continuing advances in technology are providing more ways to collect, manage and provide access to spatial information, and the future is bright with possibilities. The department is committed to the principles of open data to support and enable our customers and stakeholders to create products and services that advance Queensland at home and on the world stage. This paper provides details of the broad approach to spatial information accessibility in Queensland government today, an overview of the breadth of information available, and the discovery and access mechanisms.
